The Myth of Israeli Democracy: EXPOSED
Welcome to the English language website that exposes the myth that Israel is a functioning free democracy with a constitution, representative districts and a balance of powers similar to the US system. In reality none of these vital institutions exist in the Israeli “democratic” system.

The State of Israel was to install a constitution within six months of its establishment on May 14-15, 1948 (by October 1,1948). In fact there has NOT been a constitution adapted to this day - over 60 years later. The book: The Myth of Israeli Democracy Towards A Truly Jewish Israel by Paul Eidelberg exposes this constitution myth and many other troubling facts and explain why there is an institutional systemic problem in Israel.

The USA is the greatest friend and ally of Israel and most Americans think that Israel is a democracy similar to the USA system. Eidelberg’s book clearly exposes this misconception and myth. He concisely explains how the current scandal ridden dysfunctional Israeli political systems need reform at their core if Israel is to survive as a free nation. The Israeli system needs institutional change to provide checks and balances to power.

If you are familiar with the American democratic system, you will understand the problems that NO constitution and no representative districts would bring. Israel has Proportional Representation by political party that considers the entire nation as one big district. Thus the one legislative body in Israel called the Knesset (much like the US Senate or England’s House of Lords) is made up of 112 at large MKs representing their party’s vote totals. The citizens vote for their party and a portion of the Knesset ministers are given to each party according to their percentage of the vote totals.

The interesting part is that each party has their own system of appointing who gets these MK seats. The people are not voting for their area’s MK representative and in fact most of the Knesset MKs are from Tel Aviv or Haifa. this would be like all 100 US Senators being from New York City and San Francisco. You can see how the rest of the country’s concerns and regional issues would NOT have fair representation or perspective.

These and many more issues are exposed in this revealing book. This is a must read for anyone interested in the future of this very troubled part of the world, anyone who loves the Holy Land, any Jew in the Diaspora and certainly all Israeli citizens.

For a limited time you can read exerts from this ground breaking 98 page book on this website. We encourage you to order a copy (or ten) of this book and share it with interested parties.
