A producer, a family, and a ministry built for a screen-first generation.

Patrick J. McGuire is an eight-time Emmy nominee and a two-time Emmy-winning producer. In January 1998 he and his wife, Cyndi, founded Altarnet. They are parents of two sons and a daughter. The ministry moved to Buda, Texas in December 2022.

The work ran on two tracks that belonged together. One was programming: youth-oriented television with a clear values point of view, in daily and weekly editions. The other was teaching. Through the Altarnet Media Institute, students worked inside a professional environment and helped make real programs and video projects. The ministry also ran workshops, seminars, and longer internships in production and marketing.

The ministry today is Living Roots. Patrick hosts the weekly podcast with Digital Pastor Jim Pierce. The episodes follow the earthly ministry of Jesus week by week, using the Hebrew Gospel texts prepared by Dr. Miles Jones and the Benai Emunah Institute.

Altarnet is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Gifts are tax-deductible under U.S. tax law. The employer identification number on file with the IRS is 84-1465372.
